About Contint

Experience in IT.
Understanding the organisation.

Good IT decisions require more than technical knowledge. They require insight into the organisation, the people who work there and the practical consequences of a decision.

The thinking behind Contint

Understanding technology. Understanding the organisation.

Through Contint, I help organisations turn complex IT challenges into clear choices. I combine many years of experience in IT architecture with a practical approach and an independent perspective.

A technically sound solution is not automatically the right solution for an organisation. Costs, existing systems, suppliers, employees, ambitions and practical feasibility all play a role. That is why I do not start with the technology, but with the organisation and the challenge that needs to be solved.

How I work

Four principles.

Models and methods can help, but good advice mainly comes from combining expertise with an understanding of the environment in which a decision has to be made.

01

Broad experience and expertise

Experience with IT architecture, infrastructure, applications, suppliers and complex change helps me look at a challenge from multiple perspectives.

02

Understanding the organisation

Not just looking at organisation charts and processes, but understanding how an organisation really works and which interests and dependencies play a role.

03

Practical over theoretical

Models, architecture principles and methods are tools. Above all, the result must be useful, understandable and actionable.

04

Genuine interest in people

Behind every IT decision are people who have to work with it, decide on it or deliver the change. Their perspective is therefore part of the challenge.

The experience behind Contint

Richard Bouman

IT architect and independent adviser with broad experience in complex IT environments and change.

In my work, I have learned to view IT challenges from different perspectives: from infrastructure and applications to sourcing, suppliers and the organisation of IT. I have worked in both large international environments and mid-sized organisations.

What these environments have in common is that a decision is rarely purely technical. A solution must also fit the people, the organisation, the available resources and the direction in which the company wants to develop.

That is also how I work through Contint: independently, engaged and with enough distance to take a critical view — but close enough to understand what does and does not work in practice.
